Boy Child

Boy Child

According to the Equal Opportunities Commission 2007, gender is defined as the social and cultural construct of roles, responsibilities, attributes, opportunities, privileges, access to and control over resources and benefits between women, boy child, and girl child in a given society.

As the boy-child grows to manhood, he is faced with a diversity of challenges such as domestic violence, among others, and the burden of providing a livelihood for the family as father and husband, even when the wife earns more than the husband.

As Bravo Shoes Community Support Organization (BSCS), we believe in inclusiveness and that children are the future of a nation. They deserve the right to health, education & protection from exploitation. In a developing country like Uganda, we strive to care for the less privileged children. Let us support and uplift our future generations by providing these children and their families with an improved quality of life.

More and more boys are taking to the streets seeking refuge from abuse and other challenges at home. The male sex is considered to be stronger than the females, the boys in Uganda have always been left out. Yes, male adults are really strong people that can easily copy up and adjust to any environment and condition, unlike females.

For many reasons, boys are not an attractive choice when it comes to adoption and social help.

According to UNICEF Protection Programme, by 2025 all children in Uganda must be free from all forms of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including harmful practices, and realize their right to legal identity,

By Strengthening legislative, policy, budgetary, and institutional frameworks, building and enhancing the capacities of children, families, and communities to identify risks and prevent and respond to all forms of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

And also ensuring that children and their families access quality cross-sectoral protection services, including birth registration.
