Good News: Bravo Shoes Community Support Unveil Board, Adopt a 5-Year Plan

Bravo Shoes Community Support Organisation (BSCSO) has unveiled a unique team of professionals on the board of directors to stir up the vision and the mission of supporting vulnerable communities.

The 9 team men and women from all backgrounds of social and economic lives, make up the board composed of professionals from different disciplines, including lawyers, social scientists, and bankers among others as were unveiled at Arcadia Hotel in Mulago on Thursday.

The nine-member team which includes members from Europe and the United States adopted a five-year strategic plan which will see the organization step up its mobilization muscle across the globe with strategic targets.

According to the incoming board Chairperson Nsamba Abbas Matovu, the new board will drive better levels of compliance and accountability.

“We shall drive the organization to better levels of compliance and accountability. We thank the team for the work they are doing for the organization. We shall seek all the guidance and try to modify to make sure the organization complaint,” he said.

Nsamba said that the board is going to strategically push the organization with a strategic approach and seriously mobilize the necessary resources to create the desired impact in line with the mission of the vision bearer.

He added that in the next 5 years, their strategic effort will double and a number of committees will be selected for specific tasks.

Participants generated ideas in regard to improving performance and focusing on financial support for the organization to achieve its primary objectives.

“Non-Government Organisations suffer a lot from political persecution, we shall have to focus a lot on compliance with the law and accountability whenever we have been asked to by the authorities,” said Miriam Cherukut, a board member.

In February 2022, Brian Yesigye Bravo, the vision bearer and Executive Director (ED) of Bravo Shoes Community Support Organization (BSCSO) established the organization to change the narrative and it has since changed the lives of children from the regions of West Nile, Central, South-Western Uganda, Eastern among other families.

The organization is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) fully registered in Uganda to improve vulnerable children’s lives by providing sustainable solutions to less privileged children through mitigating the roadblocks and empowering the immediate caregivers.

Over 14 children and different families across the country have been impacted through education and families socio-economically empowered their lives have since changed following a couple of interventions by the organization’s small resources and its partners from across the country have been impacted.

The organization has continued to create conditions in which every less privileged child especially the girl child can flourish and thrive no matter their challenging circumstances.

  1. Any organization or society rises or falls on its leadership and governance. Well done to the vision bearer Bravo for championing this noble cause with structures that will outlive you and by faith remain your legacy when long gone.
